Dynamic Hip Implant Failure Analysis

Simulated the mechanical behavior of a dynamic hip plate implant to analyze failure modes and optimize design modifications for improved structural performance.

Technical Insights

Modeled the hip plate implant using SolidWorks, incorporating data from orthoload.com to simulate realistic loading conditions. Conducted detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to identify stress concentration areas and potential failure points under sub-trochanteric fracture loads. Iteratively modified the implant design, adjusting plate width and curvature, to enhance strength and reduce stress concentrations. Ensured the final design achieved significant reductions in peak stress levels, improving the implant's reliability.
